...is it fine to carry on playing at these temperatures? The top of the function keys is super hot to the touch. Predator sense max speed fans does get it down to like 78C, but still, is it avisable to play at these temperatures?

Model: Predator Helios 300 G3-572
CPU: i5-7th gen
GPU: Nvidia Geforce GTX 1050Ti (4GB)
RAM: 8GB

It is better if you elevate the laptop, as more than half of the air that is sucked from underneath the laptop is already hot. Also elevating the laptop from the surface it is resting on will increase the airflow too, even if you use passive(without fans) cooling pad. If your average CPU temperature is below 85C and the GPU - below 83C, a cooling is not needed, but it isn't bad to use one, as lower temperatures are always welcome.

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.

78C on both CPU and GPU is the average on what you would get on a gaming laptop. Visit this thread for more information about CPU temperature.

If the GPU's temperature doesn't go above 83C, you won't experience throttling and anything below 83C is considered safe.

Do you need to elevate the laptop for better cooling? I've observed that all the air only goes out from the red vents below the screen. I am not sure if a cooling pad would make a difference. Any suggestions as to how I could keep the top of the keyboard area any cooler?
