Hi, I have an Acer 5750G and windows 10 and I randomly get the error "Gateway is not available" while using ethernet cable.

I tried to use windows 7, windows 8 and windows 7 drivers with compatibility mode, but none of these has stopped the problem.

Sometimes the problems doesn't appear for 4-5 hours, sometimes I get the same error twice in ten minutes.

What can I do to solve?

    >>>>>The “Default gateway is not available” error can sometimes be caused by McAfee antivirus software. If you have McAfee installed on your computer, uninstall it and see if this helps to fix the error. To uninstall McAfee (or any McAfee product) from your computer, type "run" in Search, click the "Run" result, and it will open the Run dialog box. Type "appwiz.cpl" and press Enter on your keyboard - this will launch the "Programs and Features" window. In the Programs and Features window, locate McAfee software and uninstall it by right-clicking on it and choosing "Uninstall" from the drop-down menu.

    >>>>>resetting IP
Search for CMD using Start Menu, Right Click>Run as administrator.
Do not key in info in brackets, there for your information.
ipconfig /flushdns (Clear the dns cache)
nbtstat -RR (release and refesh NetBIOS names)
netsh int ip reset (reset ip settings)
netsh winsock reset (Reset Winsock Catalog)

BTW Windows defender from Microsoft is a full feature anti-virus/spyware and does not interfere with Windows.

    Hi, thanks for your answer.

Unfortunately I don't have mcafee, but I do have Kaspersky. I may try to disable it and see if their web scan services interfere with the network.

About the commands: I've tried them, unfortunately I they doesn't change the behavior of the network card.

It is important to say that the problem only affects the ethernet interface, and not the wireless one.

If you open a DOS box (cmd.exe) and run ipconfig/all does it say anything about an Ethernet adapter ?
