For some reason the password on my main accout has been delted. I have a secondary account and can access, but no admin rights. This was as a result of attempting to instal norton

Does anyone know how I can get into the passwords to either restore or change?

If you can open an elevated command prompt, use this command: net user administrator /active:yes

This command will enable an Admin account that you can use without a password. From that, you can create a new user account and recover the old files. Understand that if you cannot open an elevated command prompt, then it is tough my son. One other option is that if yours is Windows 8.1/10 and is a live account, we can reset the password and try but that is it.

Many options claim that you can recover them using Registry Keys but it is not that efficient. Try a system restore instead.
    BElieve in YOUrself.
