Hello,
For the Trusted Execution Engine (TXE) driver, I wanted to install it in manual by downloading the driver on the intel site and updating via the device manager but it tells me that the driver was already up to date.
Windows defender tells me that there is a problem with this driver but the problem solving does not find anything.
What to do ?
Thank you for your help !
Acer Aspire ES1-111, Windows 10 64, Celeron N2840

Try downloading and installing the ACER-specific TXE driver from here https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/support-product/5608?b=1

Not so much the "older" driver as it is the ACER driver specified for your particular model. Jack E/NJ

Ever since I installed Win 10 on my Aspire E-15, the Security Center keeps giving me the device error message "Intel trusted execution engine interface has a driver problem" - but when I go to Device Manager it says no new driver is available. When I download and try to install the Acer version, it says the version I currently have is newer than the one downloaded:
Driver x64\TXEI.inf  Package version 1.1.0.1064,  Installed version 2.0.0.1094.
So why do I keep getting the error? BTW, I did a clean install of Win 10 in 2016 and have kept it up to date. Can I continue to use the newer driver?

P.S. What does this device do anyway? Is it really necessary?

P.P.S If I install the old version over the new one, won't Windows keep trying to install the new one every time Windows updates itself??

@NVSteve What was the machine's original factory installed operating system? TXE is part of the mainboard hardware that provides an extra level of security against malware code sneaking into legitimate initial startup and Windows driver & system code. In other words, if its driver fails to load or loads improperly then, for example, Windows might let you run an infected executable that it ordinarily wouldn't let you do if the TXE hardware was enabled. In general, hardware drivers depend on whether you installed ACER-flavored Win10 or MS-generic Win10. ACER designed mainboards sometimes won't work properly with generic Win10. Jack E/NJ
