I'm not sure if anyone here cares about refurbished products, but I bought my Switch Alpha 12 this way, and it was having issues with screen flickering. It started with thick black lines going horizontal across the screen, then progressed to the entire screen shaking. I reached out to Acer Refurbished and had it sent back to their facility. I got it back today with the same problem.

I don't have the time or really want to send it back again with my vacation coming up in a week and a half, so I was just checking it out and using it as I normally would tonight. I happened to check my browser history as I was downloading something, and I saw that there was one entry from 3/26 when it was gone that wasn't something I went to. It was a Mexican job board. I only speak enough Spanish to get around a Taco Bell menu, so I know it wasn't anything I had done or had somehow synced up with my phone. I just chuckled, thinking of someone checking other jobs while they are supposed to be doing mine. I'm just annoyed that it wasn't fixed.

I can't edit my post but if anyone has any ideas, I'd like to hear them. So far, I've tried a clean OS reinstall, upgrading and downgrade drivers, turning off Enhanced Battery Life for Gaming or whatever it's called in Intel Graphics, disabling the windows error reporting service trick I found on YouTube, turning it on and off, and of course even sent it back for "repair" when all of that didn't work. I haven't been able to find anything else online.

    Hi GoCubsGo,
May actually be faulty hardware then, best to look into getting it repaired or replaced.

I did send it in for repair or replacement, and it came back exactly the same as it left.

Try to HDMI out to a TV to see if the issue is the same. If so, your graphics adapter has issues. If not, the LCD connectors on the screen and the mainboard probably need to be re-seated a few times to clean the contacts. Jack E/NJ

Is it possible/feasible for me to do this myself? I'm leaving on vacation in 13 days and was planning to take it with me to follow my Cubs.

Yes. You plug one end of an HDMI cable from HomeDepot or Lowes into the computer's HDMI port. And the other end into a TV's HDMI port. If you see no image on the TV, you try to turn it on by pressing the FN+F5 or FN+F6 toggle key combinations.

Sorry, @JackE, I should've clarified. I meant is it feasible to open it up to reset the contacts? I did connect it to my TV and there was no issue.

You can DIY if you're game. A user posted written disassembly instructions here. https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/comment/498961/#Comment_498961  A few youtube videos on opening the unit for various tasks are available by googling "switch alpha 12" "disassembly" "youtube" . Don't worry too much if you bust or crack a few plastic catches on separating the covers and bezels --- that's one of the reasons color-coordinated duct tape was invented. :) Jack E/NJ
