My laptop is just over two years old now and when I first got it everything ran like a dream. I primarily use it for gaming and games like CSGO, Fortnite, Battlefield 1 and the like were playable or ran smoothly. However, in the past 6 months or so I've found that my machine is encountering problems mostly in the form of random FPS drops usually from around 90 frames down to 30 before popping back up again. I asked around and reinstalled Windows 10 after backing up all my data because apparently that would help because it's most likely a software problem. I did this about a month ago but no changes.

I've now had a look at the back of my laptop for the first time and boom, fans are caked in dust. Do some testing and realise that my games run relatively smoothly for the first half hour or so after I boot the computer up. After this point performance plummets and the vents at the back produce enough hot air to make the penguins homeless. I'm pretty convinced the dust is the problem but my laptop can't be opened easily, requiring you to essentially rip off the keyboard as well as motherboard in order to get to the fans. I've tried compressed air through the tiny air vents as well as a vacuum cleaner but nothing has worked at all.

Also found out that my laptop never came with Acer Dust Defender despite having Windows 10 and getting it about two years ago meaning there's two years of dust back there ruining my day. My warranty has expired and I sadly can't go and complain to customer service about how I've been cucked. Any ideas?

Many thanks, Someone who wants a ***** pain free chicken dinner.

I've had a long conversation in reference to this. The problem was his thermal paste. Dust can cause primary FPS drops but i think it is thermal paste causing this m8. Why don't you go ahead and first change the thermal paste. It is not an easy process let me tell you but it is much more cheaper than getting a new computer.

Besides, you should be extra careful when it comes to that and I just hope that you'll soon see the Winner Winner Chicken Dinner without lag. I personally prefer and go ape shhh with Victory Royale! The best feeling in this Universe, let me tell you ;)
    BElieve in YOUrself.
