SSD for Aspire e 15 - e5-571g-71e7

Hello everyone,
I would like to know three things about the following ssd models:

• Samsung MZ-V6E250BW 960 EVO, M.2, NVMe
• Samsung MZ-76E250B 860 EVO, 2.5" SATA III

My questions are:

1. Are both compatible with the notebook model reported in the topic title?
2. Is it possible to place them instead of the dvd reader?
3. What else have I to buy to install them?

If those models are not compatible with my laptop, what model do you suggest to me? In this case, for that model, could you answer about questions 2 and 3?

Yes, It could be due to the fact that these modules are Double Data Rate and you can view the thin gap between the empty slot and actual memory slot in the snip below, CPU-z only reporting the availability in motherboard.

There's no M.2 slot available in your model, you could get an adapter and install a SATA III SSD like the one(Samsung 860Evo) you mentioned.

Thanks for your answer. After a long search, I'm going to buy the Samsung 860 Evo. As for the caddy, where can i know if I need a 9mm or a 9.5mm? And a last thing.. searching on Acer network, I'm not able to find my motherboard specifications (ea50_hb) in order to upgrade the RAM. Do you know where could I find them?

Hi,
I think the caddy is a universal standard DVD size, as for the memory modules, you can install CPU-z program and run it, go to Memory & SPD tabs to find the specs and get a matching module to upgrade, you can upgrade up to 16GB(2x8GB) with DDR3L 1333/1600MHz type.

Hi,
I sent a mail to Acer support, cause as for the caddy I found both 9mm and 9.5mm. I already tried CPUz but can I trust of it? It says I have 4 slots, and only the first contains a 8gb ram. I would not want that I have two 4 gb ram, is this not possible?

P.S.: Crucial does not recognize my pc through its scanner. And there are only E5-571g-31wp and E5-571g-38vf, but not mine (71e7)

Hi,
If the first slot contains 8GB, then you have one module installed in your laptop, if you want 2x4GB in your laptop, you need to buy two modules and install them after removing the single module of 8GB but it will make no difference at all. I would suggest you to leave the memory as it is but it's up to you.

No I don't want 2x4gb. I would have 2x8gb.

It says I have 4 slots, is it true? Can i buy a ram such as Kingston KCP3L16SD8/8, 1600 MHz, DDR3L to upgrade to 2x8gb? Or there is another model should I buy?
