where do I begin?

Last year I bought a used Aspire R3-131t off of Ebay, something I'll never do again.

Why?

because I'm stuck with a lemon!

One of the things I tried to do is replace the hard drive only to discover that it's an emmc, soldiered right to the mother board along with the RAM. I can live with the fixed ram, but can't live with a permanently fixed hard drive. There isn't enough space on the hard drive to use Windows 10 home. I can't load anything or install updates. I keep getting error message "not enough disk space, please fix" .

So I looked into deleting partitions, only I can't. I tried drive pooing, only I can use it for hard drives, not a hard drive and a SSD card.

Then I went into the ROM to change a setting, except I'm locked out and can't change any of the 'security' settings.

This machine isn't user friendly at all. Even the most casual user couldn't fix anything if they tried to.

If I had bought this brand new at (I'm guessing) Wal-Mart, I'd have taken it back in a heart beat.

Ironically, a friend of mine told me to NEVER buy an Acer product, and they were right!

Anyone want to buy an Acer Aspire R3-131T cheap?

Sounds like the previous owner has set a BIOS password and you need to contact the seller about what it is. Not a big deal for a professional. There is an issue with 32GB machines trying to run Windows 10-64 but it can be done, best with a 32GB or 64GB SD card formatted NTFS that fits in the slot in the back. Are quite a few threads on how to increase the free space but the fastest way is a disk clean up coupled with turning off hibernation.

I have a R3-131T just a different model which is upgradable & have hot-rodded so it runs with an i7 desktop. My preferred travel computer.

ps the last few computers I have bought (including the R3) were from the Acer Refurbished shop on eBay but then I do not mind a bit extra set-up time.
