Have to type an extra first key to wake up SW5-012

Since new my Aspire doesn't read the first key typed if it sits more than 30 seconds. I have to hit a key to 'wake it up' so it will respond to input. This is really annoying and often I have to go back and retype the first letter in a sentence because it doesn't register. I turned off the 'power saver' feature and it had no affect. Is this 'normal' to this model?  This happens from boot-up when typing the password. I have to hit a key - then type the password or the first letter doesn't register.

This seems normal if your machine has been set to go to sleep or hibernate too soon. Open Control Panel or Settings. Search power plan. Change your plan settings so the system doesn't go to sleep for a longer period of inactivity. Jack E/NJ
