Hi

We have a strange issue with two Acer GD245HQ Monitors.  They occasionally seem to trip and become dead and unusable.  If you leave them a few hours you can then power them on.

Has anyone else seen this and fixed the problem?

Thanks

Your computer should never do that. It might sound silly but did you check with the cables? If cables are connect in properly, do me a favor and make sure that your graphics card is working properly. With failed video card, these things are normal.

When you power on, do you see the lights and no display only on the monitor? If so, then the problem is with the monitor. If you don't see any lights on the machine and also the monitor, then the issue is related to the machine itself.

Thanks for your advice.  Unfortunately I've already tried different cables, PCs, graphics card but experience the same issue.  It's strange that both monitors have developed the same fault around the same time.  A bit rubbish really.  I was hoping this was a known fixable fault!

When you try to power the monitors on you get nothing from them (when they're misbehaving) .  No lights or sound.  PCs work fine with other monitors.

I guess we need to buy replacements!

It indeed sounds like a replacement case my friend. I am sorry to hear but I guess it has led to that.

+1 to that. Same thing happened with mine. No replacement boards in my country, and it is impossible to get the service manual.

But I'm willing to find out what is wrong with my electronic and fix it. But don't suppose I can do it asap.

BTW there are several boards also some video boards for the G245 on aliexpress and some power boards but they look partly different. If someone is up to try this shop (the picture of this board looks exactly as mine) please give some feedback about the order.
