Acer Spin 1 memory issue and Windows 10

I just purchased spin 1 and to be honest I am really dissapointed regarding the space. I checked and did my research before buying it and though it would be fine for me as I will be using it for mailing, netflix and youtube. When I booted up the device my storage was 10 GB free. Windows started the updates and now it dropped to 3.5 GB and cannot continue with the updates as the device has no memory. Also I tried to use my SD card for apps and pictures (btw device only has google chrome and netflix installed so far) but that is also not working as I cannot use my SD card as a storage space.

So my questions are:
1- Does Acer has a way of fixing this issue?
2- Can I move Windows to my SD card? if so how?
3 - What can I do to have more space as I do not need C: but still in future it may be a problem?

If there is anyone that can help please let me know. I do not want to return the laptop back as it actually meets all my requirments and price was perfect for me.

Honestly, you cannot move Windows to SD card without it being a choir so let's drop the idea straight away. It's risky too.

The space issue is caused due to lack of space in the C:\Windows and I think it is because of the updates that Windows Started to rollout. I suggest you to try routing your Windows update to an external drive or a different partition.

When you try to update, simply insert an empty an NTFS formatted SD card or usb stick for temporary storage space needed by the update process. After the process is complete , you can remove the card or stick. Jack E/NJ

Yeah, OP, I have the same issue.  Went directly to Acer tech support, who provided this link for creating a bootable Win10 flash drive (I haven't tried it yet):
    https://us.answers.acer.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/48157

I also intend to employ altering the download location.  If this all works, it'll complete this snappy little number.  I didn't acquire it with high expectations, but I do intend to push it to its limits.  On airplanes, way beats traveling with my 17" workstation.

Thank you all for your answers. I managed to stop windows updating itself and stopped hybernation. Also compressed the drive and raise the C: to 7.5 GB. Its fine for now. I will format my SD card and make set it as secondary save place so I wont use C: at all.

Will try the suggestion I marked as solution because seems more accurate to my case.

Thank you all once again! :)

There's a better way. First of all, if you can, upgrade to Win 10 Pro. That can be difficult, too, but since it's a purchase, Microsoft will work you through it. That will give you more control of the Update process. If you are continuing with Win Home P., the best procedure is to start with an Acer system restore if you can afford to reinstall everything. (You really can't afford not to) Put the largest micro SD card you afford into the card reader where it will stay permanently. Partition it into 2 volumes. I usually split it in 1/2 but you'll need the most room for programs so make the first volume larger if you like. Then follow the Microsoft procedure to configure your system now to install all NEW programs on that first volume. I create a Programs and Program (86) directory on that volume to help.) Not every program is smart enough to tag along but most Microsoft programs will. (Including Office) So watch as you install and change the c: to d:. Then redirect Documents, Pictures, Videos, etc to each thus named on the e: drive. I redirect Downloads also to this e: drive where you store all your files. User can't be  moved. Then follow the suggestion above to redirect updates probably to the d: drive. This process gives you the additional protection of keeping your files safe if the OS and programs get incapacitated. This has made this little lightweight machine the ideal traveling companion for limited carry on flights.
