Has anyone installed Linux on a Chromebook ? Specifically an Acer CB3-431 with a Braswell N3160 processor ? If so did you install from a live distro or did you use the CROUTON method ? YWTK

Nice idea but the Acer chromebook that is now "out for delivery". It has no SD card slot but I have one of these.

ps still have to post every url twice and put highlighted element on its own line. First time it always puts the URL at the start of the post and without being on its own line the anchor will be the whole line, not just the highlighted bit.

The mechanism provides a way to save/restore the original BIOS. Would't it be nice if Windows could do that ?

I guess today's the day you'll find out if your Chromebook arrives on time. Correct? Maybe you saw this one already. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSNx9uxRSFI . Jack E/NJ

PS: I'm hooked on Mint for more capable machines. I don't need Windows anymore. And loathe Chrome too so it'd be nice to have this option.

Note: this is not supported by either Acer or Google.

Has anyone used the MrChromebox firmware to enable legacy boot ? Did it work ? Any surprises ?

No. But it might be a good way to try to brick it. Then get an RMA for a replacement to try something else. =) Jack E/NJ
