Hello everyone! I just signed up here. I have an Aspire X AXC-703G-UW52 with an Intel J1900 and I would like to upgrade the RAM. The BIOS states that I have 4GB 1333MHz DDR3L RAM and at startup the BIOS states that the RAM is in single channel mode or something like that. I need to know the folowing: Is the motherboard upgradable to 8GB of RAM?  What is the fastest MHz of RAM speed the motherboard will allow? How many pins does the RAM card have? Does the motherboard allow multiple RAM cards?

    Hi,
You can upgrade up to 8GB with a DDR3L 1333MHz  204 pin memory, you have two slots for upgrade.

    Example:http://uk.crucial.com/gbr/en/aspire-xc-703g/CT7296375#productDetails

I finally got around to pulling off the cover and inspecting the RAM card. It is a Kingston and on the socket where the RAM card plugs in it staes: DDR3 STD 1.5V. The motherboard is printed with an ACER INC logo. I looked everywhere on the motherboard for a MHz standard but I did not see anything. Just to see what would happen I switched RAM card sockets and when I turned on the PC I just had a blank screen so I switched back to the other RAM socket and now everything works fine. I noticed on your link that the RAM card is 1600 MHz and 1.35V. Is this motherboard rated for 1600MHz RAM and what would happen if I used dual 1.5V RAM cards?

    Hi,
Crucial memory with 1600MHz speed may downclock to 1333MHz, your Kingston DDR3 1.5V module might have been available at the time of the assembly but it's better to stick to the recommended modules, the recommended specifications for your PC as in my snip.

    Hi,
I don't think you can manually switch from single channel to dual channel, have you checked in BIOS settings? if you don't have the settings in BIOS, you can not change it, as long as you insert the recommended modules, the memory will work in dual channel.

@Eren you should start a new thread with your question. You have a different computer than this thread is for, so your answers wouldn't pertain to this one. You can add me to the thread by using the @ sign. It's better for you to put it in the laptop section as well, this one is for desktops.
