Reset SW5-012 under Windows 10, now I get no sound

My detachable keyboard stopped working and I managed to fix that by performing a full reset just yesterday, March 8th 2018 (deleting personal files due to space restrictions). Trackpad and keyboard are both working now but I don't get any sound. I do have audio devices installed and I have tried installing the Realtek drivers, Quick Access and Platform drivers available from ACER. There's nothing that looks suspicious in my Device Manager and I even get audio levels registering in the volume mixer - just no audio from speakers, headphones or Bluetooth speakers (bluetooth doesn't seem to connect).

The audio device here is RealTek m8 I guess the problem is the SST. You probably need to disable SST first and then try and see if the audio works. If the problem persists even after RealTek is primary, you can download the driver for SST and see if that helps as well. Windows can't really identify the correct drivers in such cases.
    BElieve in YOUrself.

When you say 'disable', do you mean Uninstall from Device Manager? Because there's only one Playback Device in the sound window; the SST. Should the Realtek one appear out of nowhere once I disable it there? Because it doesn't.

So in short, I have only one playback device, as you can see from the attached image in my original post. Disabling that seems to have no change. I have installed the driver from ACER for both Realtek (Audio_Realtek_6.4.10041.4257_W10x86_A) and the driver for the SST I'm assuming comes as part of Platform Driver (Platform Drivers_Intel_1.0.0.1064_W10x86_A), correct?

You might try turning the speakers on with the Fn+F8 toggle key combo. Or volume control with the  Fn + up/down arrow keys. Jack E/NJ

My audio is not muted and my volume is up.

Uninstall both drivers from Device Mgr. Exit. Cold boot. Let Windows automatically re-detect and re-install the drivers. If that doesn't do it you might want to try another re-set but from outside Windows. Jack E/NJ

Alright, I'll try that but for the record, my original reset was from outside Windows.
Also, when you say uninstall drivers do you mean device? I don't see an option that explicitly reads drivers, just uninstall device.

OK so I uninstalled both devices (with delete driver option checked), shut off the laptop completely and then booted it up again. Lo and behold, I'm right back where I started:

Audio levels showing in Volume Mixer while sound is playing. But no audio from speakers and a rhythmic clicking noise in headphones if connected.

If you've already done an ALT+F10 coldboot re-set, then a hardware issue may now be more likely than a driver issue.  But before trying another re-set, open Control Panel to see if there are uninstall options listed for the Intel SST and Realtek codec. Then uninstall them. Then open Device Mgr and make sure they're gone. If not, uninstall both the SST and Codec devices from Device Mgr too. Then exit. Cold boot and let Windows try to re-install both drivers. If still no joy, then try another ALT+F10 re-set to rule-in or rule-out a  hardware failure. Jack E/NJ
