I've got a MB Pro 2017 and previously used Acer GN246HL with a MacBook Air.
Now with the MacBook Pro the Acer display simply isn't recognized.
Seen people on other forums with the same problem and it seems like this is a between chair-thing, where Acer blames Apple and vice versa.

So my question is really, does anyone have a solution instead of just empty words :) In other words, are there drivers for download somewhere that solves this? Or any workaround somehow. Tried PRAM and SMC resets and pulling the plugs etc, but no luck...

Connects through a Thunderbolt 2 to Thunderbolt 3 adapter.

Hi, MacBook and MacBook Pro computers with the Kaby Lake chipset, 50% faster speeds on SSD, and faster graphics on the 15-inch MacBook Pro. The new MacBook Pro only has USB-C ports (Thunderbolt 3), The USB-C port on the Acer monitor won't power your MacBook, though it won't suck power from it either, since the monitor has its own power cable. The monitors gives 1440x2560 display, and HDMI port, and a DisplayPort (though you cannot interface with peripherals via your MacBook and the USB-C input).
