Hello
I'm very happy with my A715-71G-7955 laptop, but there is very annoying problem with ethernet, some times after booting into windows10/ubuntu, it cannot get an IP from DHCP
I tried to put the ip manually (with the proper settings) but the same thing no internet and I'm sure I plugged the cable properly.
when I unplug it and plug into another laptop I'm able to connect to internet from that laptop.
I solve that problem by rebooting and sometimes it needs more than one reboot
I faced that problem with win10 64bit and ubuntu.

Thanks.

How old is your router? And why are you not using wireless ethernet? Jack E/NJ

I bought it 4 years ago, my old wireless router has a problem so I'm no longer using it. I'm using an Ethernet cable from a my upstairs apartment.
I don't think it's a router related problem, because when I plug the cable into any another device except mine, it works.
then I understand that I should reboot my laptop :anguished:

    (1) How long is the cable? (2) Is it category5 or category6?  (3) What other devices are you talking about? Are they older devices? You may have to reconfigure the router to accomodate newer much higher-speed capable devices like A715 (4) You really should not be hotplugging the cable. (5) It can often take several minutes before a network to stabilize and be fully functional --- don't expect the newer machine to handshake with the router and acquire an address instantaneously.
