When you launch Intel XTU, you see (presumably) the values that the CPU comes with at stock. One strange thing is that on stock, the Turbo Boost Short Power Max is at 15 w, but the Turbo Boost Power Max is at 44w. Shouldn't the Short Power Max be at the higher value? Also, by raising the Short Power Max to 25w, I get much better overall performance and much less throttling. I think the Nitro Spin has some not great power and voltage defaults for both the graphics card and cpu, and maybe even some mistakes in the way they've implemented power control. I've greatly improved the laptop by undervolting them both, and raising power limits.

I wish that Acer would improve them in an upcoming BIOS so that people get better performance out of the box.
