I am not sure how to even fix this, I hope someone can point me int he right direction.
I have not turned anything on or off BUT the microphone does not work as a stand alone or with my headset.
I can hear people but they cannot hear me.
Any direction? I can see it turned on. I test it and sometimes it recognizes and others it does not. Even when recognized, I still cannot use it correctly as folks say they cannot hear me.

    Hi,
Type "Voice Recorder" at start search, at the next window you can test your microphone by recording and play it back. If you find any problem, go to Sound
settings and click troubleshoot. You could also blow softly in to the mic to remove any dust(it's in a wrong place) but don't use anything to clean it.

Method 1: Set Microphone as Default Device

To make microphone work properly, you need to set the microphone as default device. This method has worked for many users who have microphone problem like you.

    Follow steps below:

    1) Right-click the Speaker Icon at the bottom right corner. A context menu will pop up.

    1

    2) Click Recording devices on the pop-up menu.

    2

    3) In Sound dialog box, click the Recording tab. If you see the Microphone is not set as Default Device, click the Set Default button to set it to default.

Note: The device name might not be Microphone and the icon might not be in shape of a Microphone in your computer.

    3

    4. Click OK > Apply.

Method 2: Unmute Mocrophone and Increase the Volume

One possible reason that microphone doesn’t work could be muted microphone and low volume. So you should check if the microphone is muted and the volume is too low.

    Follow steps below:

    1) Right-click the Speaker Icon at the bottom right corner. A context menu will pop up.

    1

    2) Click Recording devices on the pop-up menu.

    2

    3) In Sound dialog box, click the Recording tab. Select the default microphone then click the Properties button.

    4

    4) Click the Levels tab. If volume is muted, you will see the sound icon display like this: 6. In that case, click it to unmute the microphone. And make sure the volume is set to 50 or higher.

    5

    5) After resetting, click OK and Apply.

    Method 3: Update All Drivers

Driver conflicts may cause this problem. To resolve the problem, you can try to update the drivers.

You can update the drivers manually. But if you don’t have the time, patience or computer skills to update the drivers manually, you can do it automatically with Driver Easy.

Driver Easy will automatically recognize your system and find the correct drivers for it. You don’t need to know exactly what system your computer is running, you don’t kingroot apk need to risk downloading and installing the wrong driver, and you don’t need to worry about making a mistake when installing.

You can update your drivers automatically with either the FREE or the Pro version of Driver Easy. But with the Pro version it takes just 2 clicks (and you get full support and a 30-day money back guarantee):

    1) Download and install Driver Easy.

    2) Run Driver Easy and click Scan Now. Driver Easy will then scan your computer and detect any problem drivers.

    3) Click the Update button next to all flagged devices to automatically download and install the correct version of their driver (you can do this with the FREE version). Or click Update All to automatically download and install the correct version of all the drivers that are missing or out of date on your system (this requires the Pro version – you’ll be prompted to upgrade when you click Update All).

Hope the tips above help you resolve microphone not working issue. If you have any questions, please leave your comment below. We’d love to hear of any comments and suggestions.

If you're experiencing problems with your microphone, don't worry! There are a few things you can try to get it working properly again. In this guide, we'll cover three methods that have worked for many users in the past.

Method 1 involves setting the microphone as the default device. This is a simple step that can make a big difference in how your microphone functions. To do this, right-click the Speaker Icon at the bottom right corner of your screen and select Recording devices. In the Sound dialog box, click on the Recording tab and look for the Microphone. If it's not set as the default device, click the Set Default button to make it the default. Remember that the device name and icon may look different on your computer. Once you've done this, click OK and Apply.

Method 2 involves checking if the microphone is muted and increasing its volume. Sometimes, the microphone may be muted or its volume may be too low, which can cause it to not work properly. To check this, right-click the Speaker Icon again and select Recording devices. In the Sound dialog box, click on the Recording tab and select the default microphone. Click the Properties button and then select the Levels tab. If the volume is muted, you'll see a sound icon that looks like it has a cross through it. Click this to unmute the microphone and make sure the volume is set to at least 50. Once you've done this, click OK and Apply.

Method 3 involves updating all of your drivers. Sometimes, driver conflicts can cause issues with your microphone. You can update the drivers manually, but this can be time-consuming and complicated. An easier option is to use Driver Easy, which can automatically update all of your drivers for you. This is a great option if you don't have the time or expertise to update them yourself.
