Hi!

Ive been wrestling with the touchpad for the aforementioned laptop for about a week now with no results.

Touchpad only works on basic mode. If I put it to advanced no mouse driver functions at all. Basic mode is functional but bad and without any gestures.

Ive tried:

-Fully deleting the device(+drivers) from device manager and:

-Synaptics and Elan drivers on advanced mode for touchpad in BIOS, multiple different versions with normal install and also force install via device manager - update driver-i have a disk-search my computer, as well as the two elan and synaptics drivers from acers own driver list, both normal and forced installs.

-Windows compatible and non compatible elan and synaptics drivers from same menu

-Ive tried to update bios for synaptics, doesnt work. I believe touchpad in this version is Elan. Vendor hardware ID points to this direction

-Reset bios to default settings, touchpad goes to advanced mode, doesnt work.

I also cant uninstall either the synaptics drivers from remove programm(File path is X:/program files !?!?), or elan drivers)this uninstall prompts for admin rights, then asks for uninstall, then does nothing. Also the uninstall app in Program files for elan doesnt work. Program files in synaptics only has 1 data file?

Windows update is useless, claims PC is up to date.

Im aware some people got windows 8.1 drivers to work, but theres only win 10 drivers for this laptop online.

Any help?

Thanks

If this happened suddenly about a week ago, I suggest that you open Control Panel. Search "restore point". Click on restore system and files from a restore point. Check for an automatic Win10 update restore point immediately before the touchpad issues started. Jack E/NJ

Did you also wipe its hidden ACER recovery partition? Jack E/NJ
