I have Aspire E5-575 laptop, I did a BIOS update now the power light goes on and off every 20 seconds, will not start up any more. Any suggestions on how to get it fixed?

What problem were you having with the machine that this update was supposed to fix? Jack E/NJ

I wasn't having any trouble with the computer. The update was listed as a security update.

What filename(s) are in the unzipped BIOS file that you downloaded? Jack E/NJ

Without a screen, it's gonna be a bit tough especially with Win10. Is this machine still under warranty? Jack E/NJ

Yes, it's still under warranty. Do you think it flashed the wrong file? Every thing looked fine doing the flash just never restarted.

More likely a chip hiccup. UEFI bootstrappers and BIOSes in general are touchy that way. We can try a few more things. First, on another thread, padgett suggested you try to HDMI out to a TV to try to get a screen. Probably won't work if the BIOS doesn't recognise the video card but worth trying it anyway. Might have to toggle the screen on with the Fn+F5 or Fn+F6 key combos. Jack E/NJ

this is my old computer but I still want to use it. since there is no update to get it to run windows 10, I said what the heck I will install linux. so I looked and sure enough there are 3 bios updates listed to support linux.  problem is none of them work!  in every case the flash program runs, it says checksum ok but the romid is not correct. it sometimes reports the size of the bios is incorrect. very frustrating as this is still a very good computer.  I can run windows 7 pro no issues but, I cannot connect to my company network because they will not permit.  so how the hell do I get the bios updated.  I jumped through all the hoops.  created the usb boot to dos drive.  I loaded the unzipped files on that usb drive.  ran the program and I am all dressed up to dance but she no want to play!  any help would be appreciated
