I have tried everything and cannot connect my brand new Acer Aspire 3 to my home network.  I've tried turning the laptop on and off, turning the router on and off, calling support but there is a significant language barrier, went back to the store where I bought it (and it connected to store network just fine.)  After bringing it back and trying at home again, I've had no success.... not even with a store tech on the phone.  The best response I received was to pay someone over 1/2 of what the laptop costs to come in and set up the Aspire properly to connect to my network. I'm about to return it to the store.  Please offer any suggestions.  Thanks!

Please let us know the full model number of your laptop.
Also, the make and model of your router.
Please try the below mentioned steps and let us know if the issue is fixed.

    >>>Try using automatic troubleshooting.

Click Start , type troubleshooting into the Search field.
Select troubleshooting from the search results. Click Network and Internet.
    Click Internet Connections. lick Advanced.
Click Run as administrator (if present), check Apply repairs automatically, and then click Next.

    >>>Try rebooting the router/modem and then if it doesn't work automatically (which it may well) then do the following.
Go to "Control Panel" > Next go to "Network and Internet" and then "Network and Sharing. Now click on "Manage Wireless Networks". On this screen, remove all wireless connections by "right clicking" on it and select "Remove network" from the drop down menu. After doing this, close the open windows and reboot the computer. Once the computer is fully reloaded, scan for the "Wi-Fi networks". Click on the available network that you want to access and select "connect". It takes a moment, but then you will be asked to give a password for your Wi-Fi connection. Type in the password and click the "connect" button.
    It should now be connected.

    >>> Try checking the channel setting on your router. Go into the routers "configuration" and then go to the "Wireless" option. In here look for an option which deals with "Channels".

If the router is set to "auto", you should usually see which channel your router is using. Next you need to check the channel setting for your Laptop: Go to "Control Planel" and then "Network and Sharing Center". Click on "Change Adapter Settings". Now right-click "WLAN device" and and then click "Properties". Go to the "Networking" tab and click on "Configure".  Next click on the "Advanced" tab, go to "WZC IBSS Channel Number property" and look at the value/number it is using. If this value/number is different than the one that your router is using, this can cause your laptop to not connect correctly.

You can look into switching to manual selection of channel on the router and then select an appropriate channel which is supported by both your router and your laptop.
