So i'm pretty sure i got some sort of virus on my laptop that just completely destroyed how it functioned, so I set it away thinking that it was completely broken. Well recently I decided to try and get my Aspire working again, so I tried fac resetting it again (i tried previously, but it was so slow it took a day just to load one page) to see if it might work, well it was definitely much faster and i loaded up the reset screen, clicked all the options to completely wipe the computer and let it run. The morning after I checked it and it was only at 1% (which it had reached before i went to bed) so i head off to school and come back to find it only at 3%, from the time I post this it will have been almost 21 hours since i launched the reset. Currently running windows 10.

Could this be because of the virus i may have obtained? Please help i just want my laptop back.

(I should also add that i could not start up my laptop normally. It would take around 3 days to get past the login screen)

    Hi @ FizzerGabe

This could an issue with corrupted windows operating system or issue with the hard disk  .
Are you using the the same windows operating system shipped with your computer?
Do you have the recovery media that you created using Acer recovery management?
If your device is in warranty you may contact Acer support to fix the issue.

First off thanks for responding, but yes the laptop was shipped with windows 10, I did not make a recovery method stupidly, and my device is not in warranty anymore sadly. Is there anything that I can manually do to correct or check if my windows OS is corrupted?

Shut the machine completely off by pressing and holding the power button. The turn the machine back on and immediately press and hold the ALT key while tapping the F10 key until the recovery screen appears outside the Win10 operating system. Then follow this video to reset the machine again
