Hello - I just got a GN246HL monitor with Dual Link and HDMI connections.  My MSI PC has Display Port and HDMI connections.  Does anyone know if or how I can get 144hz refresh rate from this set up ?  Acer tells me I can't do it with an adapter.  Thank you.

The Monitor your asking about can only display 144hz through Dual-Link DVI, It does not Have HDMI 2.0. You need a monitor with HDMI 2.0. Also you will not be able to reach 144hz but you can reach 120hz, as HDMI 2.0 only supports up to 120hz at 1080p.
You can try using a adapter.

Hello Sharanji ... and thank you.  Alas, my MSI only has HDMI and DisplayPort.  I tried Dual-Link DVI to HDMI with an adapter but no luck.  I've ordered DVI to DisplayPort and DVI to HDMI cables (ie without adapters) which I'll get next week ... but I'm not holding my breath.  It looks like I'll have to try another monitor.  At least Acer has Customer Support which works - Asus, not so much.  By the way - my PC doesn't even recognize this monitor (apart from Generic PnP) and I can't find Windows 10 drivers for it.  Is that a big deal or even relevant ?  Thanks again.

You may post back the status once you get the cable. The monitor does not require any driver since it is a plug and play device. All the settings are managed by the graphics card application and windows on your computer.

Hello ... Sharanji.  It was as I feared.  I picked up both cables this morning, went back home and tried them - no luck with either.  This monitor will only do 144hz with DVI to DVI.  This has also been confirmed by another Community member.  Why don't these people (Acer, Asus etc) put this on the box ?  Anyway, no worries.  I have returned the Acer and got myself a new Samsung CFG70.  144hz (DP to DP) and better picture quality right out of the box.  A little more money but well worth it.  Thanks again for your comments.
