I can’t get my laptop to reboot beyound the Acer explore beyond limits screen.
Ive done the shut down and restart three times and it just brings me to the Acer explore beyond limits screen,
sometimes it also says Preparing Automatic Repair, but that’s it then after about 15 minutes ,that screen just goes black gray.
So what am I to do now"?

I believe it is running win 10 via automatic update, but I’m not sure?
How do you start these Acer laptops in safe mode?
I figure if I can get it into safe mode, just maybe I can accomplish a fix on it or at least find out why it’s doing what it’s doing.
This all started when one of my kids created a new Microsoft account, not an hr after that ,it started not wanting to cooperate with my kid,so it wouldn’t shut down, well that is until the power button was help down to the count of 30.
Then it didn’t want to restart.
finially after the power button was held down to the count of 4,then it started, only to be caught in the preparing automatic repair loop.

Try tapping F8 to try to get to either safe mode or a command prompt. If still no joy, we can try a factory re-set but will need to know about when you purchased the machine. Jack E/NJ

i was able to talk to a tech on line,he said that my boot file is corrupt, and yes they can fix it if I just pay for unlimited tech help for 6 months @ $129 or $199 for a yr or $299 for 2 yrs,I told the guy it would take me 6 months to save up the $129.
So Is there a cheaper way to fix the corrupted boot file?

OK. If tapping F8 did not work, completely power down the machine by pressing and holding the power button for about 5 seconds. Turn the machine back on and immediately press and hold the ALT key while tapping the F10 key. If the hidden ACER recovery partition has not been corrupted, a recovery screen should appear. Follow the directions for troublshooting. Jack E/NJ

    F8 doesn’t work.
F2 worked to get in, did what video tutorials said, but they didn’t work to get it out of the loop,so my brother in law made a Windows 10 reboot zip disk, needless to say that didn’t work,it won’t let us instant windows 10,so my brother in law did a windows 8.1, still won’t let us install.
So where is the factory reset button on this dang thing.
it was bought in 2015,but most likely made in 2014.
jack thank you for your help.

OK. If the hidden ACER recovery partition is still intact, you can try to re-set the machine to factory default. First, press and hold the power button for 5 seconds to completely shut the machine off. Then turn the machine on and ***immediately*** press and hold the ALT key while tapping the F10 key ---- don't wait for the ACER logo screen to appear --- the recovery setup screen should be presented. Then follow this video. If the recovery screen does not appear, then F2 into the BIOS menu and make sure the D2D recovery option is enabled in the MAIN tab. Then F10 to save and exit. Then retry re-setting machine. Jack E/NJ

    Good morning!

    The same problem i have with a E5-521-60Y6 - installed 8.1.

It ever runs without a problem, but last week i only wanted to shut it.
I clicked "shut down" and 5 Minutes later i pushed the Powerbutton for 4sec.

    Now it doesn't start anymore.

It hangs in Acer Bootscreen and EVERY possibility to fix this problem has no success.
But everything needs eternal times from one window to the other sometimes it lasts 2-4Minutes.

Yesterday i did a factory re-set with the USB-INTENSO-STICK, but even that didn't work.

And now i tried a factory re-set with ALT+F10 and now it says:

    Restore original settings
first insert the installation media then it can continue

    - USB-Stick doesn't work
    - no Disk was delievered

Someone can help me?  Otherwise i'm about to throw this ***** thing out of my window

What about this ***** UEFI? Perhaps this is the problem? Wrong Bootsequences?
