I've been in a stressful situation trying to get my laptop back in working condition. I'm in an area without phone service and I'm not at home so I've been trying to fix my laptop the best I could while being stuck here and I just found out that Acer is trying to royally screw me over by saying my warranty is expired even though I have an open ticket with them and they are aware that the computer is acting up.

I tried doing a system restore last week but that failed. Tried another restore date and that failed. Tried restarting the computer in normal mode but it kept crashing and gave me the blue screen. Tried resetting my computer while keeping my files but that failed. Tried resetting my computer without files but that failed. Tried doing a USB Windows Boot up which ended up deleting my 1TB external harddrive, 11 years worth of my work and all my family photos and the computer is still not working like it was just last week.

This laptop isn't even a year old and yet it powers down when I run basic programs and overheats really fast; when I initially load the computer it's really slow and says it's at 100% disk usage.

I came here because Acer won't let me message customer support anymore. There was no point in giving me a reference number if they were just going to shut the door in my face and pretend like I'm dead to them. I'm just so fed up and don't know what to do. I really need help, someone... I need this computer to work when I'm being forced to travel out of state. I have $200 left in the bank and this is costing me everything.

Is your fan turning on? I personally downloaded notebook fan control and manually put the fan on 100%.

2nd, I would copy everything onto an external hard drive or look for external enclosure ($6) to use your HD as a portable device so you don’t lose anything.

3rd if all else fails, format the whole entire thing and reinstall win10.  I just did this and it helped my system big time.  Seems my SSD is going buy Hynix says it has a 3 yr warranty.

Check if you can what type of HD you have and see if that is failing.  Maybe the manufacturer has a 2 yr warranty on the drive.

Forgot to mention, is it malware causing this problem?  Go to bleeping computers and download the top rated tools and run them.
