I am out of warranty on my Acer E5-575 but the warranty on my SSD from SK HYNIX website says their warranty is 3 years.  It also says to go to the OEM for warranty questions.

I called Acer support and the BooB kept telling me I am out of warranty I m out of warranty.

So my question is, how does one go about getting a “failures detected” SSD replaced under the SK HYNIX (Acer Supplier) 3 year warranty??

Any information is appreciated, thanks.

Now how do I get acer support to freakin deal with this since my original warranty of 1 yr is done???  This SSD has a 3 yr warranty!!

    SK Hynix response

SK hynix has made commitments on RMA & Warranty with our OEMs and authorized distributors only to whom we have offered return privileges. Therefore, RMA/Warranty issues are and should be assisted by your place of purchase, if purchases were made through one of our authorized channels.

Please contact your place of purchase for services regarding RMA/Warranty.

    Sorry for any inconveniences.
    We hope all goes well.
    Thank you.
    Best Regards,
    SK hynix Inc.

So what happens when Hynix SSD has a 3 year warranty as state on Hynix website?  I have contacted them and they tell me the warranty is thru the OEM.  I call Acer and they ask where did I purchase the laptop.   WTF does that have to do with anything??  Sure, go to best buy and ask for my Hynix SSD to be covered by the 3 year warranty LoL heck, BestBuy doesn't even sell Hynix as a SSD in store. LoL

Anyways, Acer's supplier states 3 year warranty on their website for the SC3000 and Acer won't do jack ***** and Hynix won't do jack *****.

How pathetic all this ***** fails after 1 year and out of Acer's 1 year warranty even though the SSD has a 3 year warranty LOL.

    Per Hynix

    "Three-year LimiTed WarranTy
A three(3) year limited warranty is provided to customers who have purchased this product. for products that are replaced within the 5-year warranty period, the remaining warranty period from the original date of purchase will apply."

So what s you re answer in regards to the warranty.pdf attached in this post?  Acer decides to change the 3 yr warranty to a 1 yr warranty?  Intriguing isn't it

Copy your dated ACER purchase receipt and file a Hynix claim if it's less than 3 years. https://www.skhynix.com/eng/index.jsp

    Try again

"SK hynix has made commitments on RMA and Warranty with our OEMs and authorized distributors to whom we have offered return privileges.

    Place of purchase was eBay.

SK Hynix 3 times has directed me to the OEM to deal with this problem, in this case, ACER.
ACER will only state my 1 year has expired and plays dumb when I provide proof my SSD has a 3 year warranty.

Then get the eBay vendor to assist with the RMA. Jack E/NJ

    Again

""SK hynix has made commitments on RMA and Warranty with our OEMs and authorized distributors to whom we have offered return privileges."

Obviously ACER doesn't want to deal with honoring a 3 year warranty from their supplier because its out of the 1 year warranty.

Exactly! Just like a car mfr with a 3/36000 warranty don't want to deal with a honoring 5/60000 tire warranty after 3/36000 have passed --- or a lifetime heater motor warranty --- or whatever other warranties their parts suppliers are offering. Jack E/NJ

Yeah, regardless of the supplier clearly stating:

"SK hynix has made commitments on RMA and Warranty with our OEMs and authorized distributors to whom we have offered return privileges."

    Great example jack *****$

What's next, deep throat the acer trophy in your cubicle?
