Trying to return to factory settings

I have E1 laptop that I want to return to factory settings.  I purchased discs from Acer to accomplish the task.  The installation went fine until it was installing clear.fi Media v2.01...
I gets to 53/67 in the install and then stops.  I have repeated the process 3 times with the same result.
Does anyone have any ideas how to resolve this problem?
Thank you
Gary

Did you purchase this set because the ALT+F10 coldboot re-set method shown in this video also failed? Jack E/NJ

I purchased because the computer would start and then almost immediately after booting would go to a blue screen and lock up
I did not know about the video above at that time.

the reinstallation of the discs works fine until the end when it gets stuck at        clear.fi Media v2.01...
I gets to 53/67 in the install and then just spins endlessly

Remove the disks and put them aside for now. Press and hold the power button till the machine completely shuts down. Then turn it on again and ***immediately*** press and hold the ALT key while tapping the F10 key (don't wait for the ACER logo as in the above video) till the recovery screen appears from the hidden ACER partition on the hard drive. Try to re-set the machine this way instead of the purchased recovery disks because they may be corrupted. Jack E/NJ
