AO751h does not recognize the built in Crystal Eye webcam.

I have an Acer One netbook, model OA751h.  It has a built in Crystal Eye webcam.  The webcam used to work great, but all of a sudden, I started getting messages from chat programs, saying "no camera installed".   I tried running the webcam program that came with the cumputer, and it gave the same thing.   I ran the Devices application in My Computer and tried to reinstall the driver, but it said the driver was working properly.  Then I deleted the driver, and hoped windows would automatically reinstall the driver when it restarted.  But now windows is perfectly happy with no driver, and it has detected no webcam.  What is the problem and how can I fix it?

There is a problem with the webcam hardware.  It is not being found.
