Got my acer predator monitor today, hooked everything up, used the DP cord connected to my GTX EVGA 1070 gpu. Updated driver on gpu, double checked connections, and monitor is not connecting to computer. Pops up no signal. Tried configuring in windows 10 and nvidia control panel but to no avail could not get monitor to register. Do I need a driver for the monitor? Is there something I am not doing correctly? Please help.

DP uses Nvidia by default, so did you try the HDMI connection to just for trial and error purpose? Also, I suggest you to post the model of your laptop and the monitor for us to iron out.

Can you check if the Display Port on your Monitor has the the cable connected properly?
