Hi,

I recently updated the BIOS version on my E575G that I got from the Acer Support page. I was wondering if that update fixes the issue for Meltdown and Spectre exploits. 😎

No it does not!    It does not address ME SA-00086 or Spectre/Meltdown. The one with the title you posted (example: version 1.32 for the 575-33BM), was posted 2/7/18 but the Bios is dated 10/24/2017, before ME SA-00086 and Spectre/Meltdown were disclosed. The Bios update does not update Kaby Lake MCU: it is 62 before and after. Kaby Lake microcode has been updated at least 3 times since MCU 62: 72 and 7C which Intel ordered stop deployment on Jan 22. The most current Kaby Lake MCU is 84 which fixes Spectre/Meltdown. Intel microcode update guidance Several tools for testing are noted in this Spectre/Meltdown thread.
