Hey guys does anyone know if the USB ports on the Predator G6 are Thunderbolt compatible ?

I see there's USB 3.1 gen 1 ports but nothing indicating if it's thunderbolt compatible.

In addition, what's the difference between the RED and BLUE usb ports?

Thanks!

To have thunderbolt in USB type C, it needs to be connected to 2 or 4 PCIe lanes from the CPU through the motherboard to the port itself.

I just checked and your pc doesn't have USB type c(thunderbolt connects to this port), I have never heard of type-a having thunderbolt.

It is the same as you wrote, you have the following:
    2x usb 2.0
    2x usb 3.0(3.1 gen1)
    2x usb 3.1(3.1 gen2)

Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:
    -Model number
    -Part number(not required, but helpful)
    -CPU
    -GPU
    -Operating system

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.

Also I tried calling Acer technical support and they couldn't even explain the difference between the RED and the BLUE USB ports in the rear if the desktop and tried to convince me one RED is for the HDMI and the other is for the ETHERNET.   So they have NO idea what they are talking about. Little disappointed with the customer service so far.

I have read somewhere that the red marking on the usb port means that it doesn't power off when the system is turned off. The blue colour indicates that the usb is 3.0. In rare cases it is possible the manufacturer to use a certain usb colour just because it goes well with the case's colour. Your USB ports have different colours, so this isn't the case with your device.

Thank you.  I have the Predator G6-720 (website says UD.P01AA.753 )

What I've found is the following:
    2 x USB 2.0 (Type-A) BLACK
    2 x USB 3.1 (Gen 1 Type-A) SS (superspeed)BLUE
    2 x USB 3.1 (Gen 2 Type-A) SS (superspeed) RED

Here's the data rates on each -
     2.0 - 480 mb/s
     3.1 Gen 1 Type A - 5 GB/S
     3.1 Gen 2 Type A - 10 GB/S

Some computers have 3.1 Gen 2 with a Thunderbolt comparability which can flow 40 GB/S.    Usually indicated with a little lightning bolt next to it.         But that's the confusion,   how can some 3.1 Gen 2s have up to 40 mb/s and some don't and are limited to 10 mb/s.
