I've had this thing for over 2 months and it is gorgeous but my parents unfortunately have a 10mb connection and whenever I connect to it my laptop literally steals the bandwidth from them leaving them with a 10 kb connection at best. does anyone know how to fix this?

  • Take a look here for some information. Third-party applications seem the easiest route to take. I know there is a way using Windows, but it is complicated.

You may be able to set the bandwith allocation from the WiFi router. Will save installing additional software or changing  Windows networking settings, which can require a lot of "switches" to be thrown.  That said if your on the latest commercial build it's now a lot easier...

Windows 10 Fall Creators Update will let you limit bandwidth usage for updates

If you want to really reduce W10's bandwith usage set the WiFi connection to "metered" equally all but critical updates need to be updated manually (everything)
