Hi. I'm new to the group so I'm not sure if this has been already answered. I have an Aspire 8735-6198 Laptop. I know, it's an older model. It has just recently started shutting down and rebooting on it's own all the time. Sometimes it takes a while, some times it does it before it's finished booting. It seems to me like it will do it more frequently if I go to use a program. Any help will be appreciated.I'm running Windows 10.

The boot wouldn't take so much time at all. Maybe the boot takes time because some programs needs to close. Also, you could alternatively disable some startup softwares to reduce the restart time being too much m8.
    BElieve in YOUrself.

There are a lot of things that can cause the system to reset on you, most are bad though... Check to see if you're running into heat issues due to dust accumulation or a fan that's not working. Those are the easiest first steps.

Thank you both Ally and Pathfinder. I've already done both suggestions to no avail. It wont stay booted up long enough to for me to disable any of the start-up programs. I've cleaned it and also removed and replaced the RAM. It was suggested that it may be a hard drive issue and that I should try and replace it. Any more suggestions or comments are greatly appreciated.

Try this, boot into BIOS and just leave it there. If the hardware is OK and something in Windows is causing the problem it should be able to sit there idling away for hours and hours.

When Speccy opens you will see a screen similar to the one below.
