hi! my device does not shut down they say its a common problem for windows 10. I'm trying to roll down my driver to 9.0 from 11 by manually installing it but every time I tried my there would be a dialogue box that would appear and say that my system does not meet the minimum requirement to install such software. is there anything I can do about it

Sometimes there may be some system processes working to install updates, for example, or making some changes – before shutting down. So, the first time this occurs, please be a little patient and leave it up to 3 hours.

Another option is to turn off Fast Startup
Go to Control Panel > Power Options > Choose what the power button does and click on “Change settings that are currently unavailable" and Uncheck "Turn on Fast Startup"
    uncheck “Power Management”
Go to Control Panel > Device Manager > System Devices > Intel Management Engine Interface > Power Management and uncheck the “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power”

    Hello @Thithin123

You should post your complete model number.

Based on my observations on this forum, there really isn't a shutdown problem with Windows 10 and Acer computers, except for a certain platform---Haswell-ULT laptops that came pre-installed with Windows 8.1 and upgraded to Windows 10.  As far as I know, the rollback workaround to Intel ME 9.x from ME 11.x only applies to Haswell-ULT computers.  Since you didn't post your model number, it's hard to say why you can't rollback.

If your computer came pre-installed with Windows 8.1, you might consider going back to Windows 8.1.  In some cases a BIOS update might help....at least for a certain E series model.  But don't attempt to update your BIOS until your computer is working properly and stable.

You should backup your important personal files first, and try to create a factory recovery USB drive before you go any further.

You can try resetting your PC to factory defaults using Alt+F10.

You can also install vanilla Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 or get your factory recovery media from Acer.  I'll give you some links.

Although I do have a Haswell-ULT computer, and did use Intel 9.x ME driver workaround for a while, I decided/determined that in order to get the computer to work perfectly....not only with sleep/shutdown, but other things, the best choice was to go back to Windows 8.1.
    I'm not an Acer employee.
