After a week the machine has become progressively more and more unstable.
Starting the machine is iffy . I tried everything , sometimes it starts sometimes not.
Worse are the missing ms. files which pop ups tell me do not exist.
Other missing dlls...and so on.
I am not new to computers and I know what I am doing. I used to work msoft maintenance , I abandoned it and moved to another IOS.

It seems that windows ten is a control freak and confuses itself.
Or the chip on the machine is having trouble .
Or both.

Before I take it back to Best buy ..any advice ?

Are you using a Acer one 10, S1002 or S1002P device?
If you are using a S1002, please check if you have updated the BIOS to the latest version avaliable at Acer support website.
It could be only windows related issue, if you feel there is some harwdare related issue you may get a replacement from BestBuy.

In conclusion ( I hope ,) the recore via the machine recovery code , to factory default and full erasure . Seemed to do the trick . The machine is stable and I now have access to the root and et cetera.

What happened initially ( * instability ) occurred after I deleted Norton and installed Mcaffee  . Rather than tamper with the machine any more I shall be more careful. I feel that win10 has some inherently nasty problems and MS agrees.

For 200 bux this little two in one is very useful.
The build is ok ,  a pad fell off the back of the keyboard section ,  but popped right back in.
The sd card holder is temperamental sometimes.

Beginning to like it and will not return it.
I abandoned Msoft machines eight years ago , for Apple products .
I am bringing Msoft back into the fold again.

I have given up on third party AVs and use a combination of paranoid settings on the UAC, Windows Defender, and prior to 1709 also used Window's EMET.
