My R31T came with a 2 core Intel Celeron N3050, 1.6ghz processor and a 30gb SSD. I was able to upgrade the ram from 2gb to 4gb, and today I will install a 60gb SSD. It can be upgraded up to 8gb of ram.

The New R31T comes with a 500gb HDD, 4gb ram, and the 4 core 1.6ghz Intel Pentium N3700 processor. It comes with 4gb RAM and can go up to 8 as well. I'm assuming the new version has the same motherboard as my older model.

Does anyone know? Can I purchase and put a Pentium N3700 processor in my older R31T?

Thanks in advance.

You can't change your CPU, as it is soldered to the motherboard.
Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:
    -Model number
    -Part number(not required, but helpful)
    -CPU
    -GPU
    -Operating system

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.

Yes if the full model number is r3-131t but shouldn't notice too much difference. Jack E/NJ PS---Ooops! Didn't notice that you'll also need to be real handy using an extra fine tip soldering iron. 8^)

Thanks. Seems that's consistent with the n3700 processor on other motherboards. Integrated, can't separate them :( fun to tinker, can't on this one. I guess I'll just wait for an upgrade, had the 2 core 1.6ghz version for nearly 3 years, works pretty well for what I want, could always use something better. I like to run Star Wars Galaxies Legends emulator, this can handle one instance fine, two instances in a pinch. Ideally would like to run up to 3 smoothly. Haven't seen better iPad sized customizable windows systems out there, least not in this price range.
