Aspire V3, 0% charging and shuts down when I unplug charger

Hi, Acer community!

This morning I noticed that my computer didn't charge properly - it didn't go past 55%. I thought maybe I should try taking out the charger, well, apparently that made my laptop shut down. After shutting down a couple of times until I understood the pattern, I noticed that my battery level is down to 0% (0% availaible, plugged not charging). Somebody tell me what is going on?

My laptop has been working perfectly until now and I really, really need my computer to work (writing my masters thesis, and I don't always have the opportunity to plug in the charger). Is there any home remedy, can service help or is it time to get a new laptop?

Thankful for any, good, answers.

Could you please post the full model number of your laptop?

Please perform a power reset and check if the issue is resolved.
Shutdown the laptop. Disconnect the charger.
If your computer has a removable battery, Insert a suitable tool into the latch and slide to release and remove the battery.
Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to release the static charges.
Insert the battery, connect the charger and check if the battery is charging to 100%

If the issue persists, open device manager, under the Batteries category, Uninstall "Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery".
Then in Device Manager taskbar, click Scan for hardware changes. After device manager detects Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Batterycomponent and restores it, restart your computer and issue should be fixed.

Please post back and let me know if you need more help.

    Hi Sharanji,

Thank you for your answer! The model number is MS2392 / Acer V3-371-5632.

This means that the laptop doesn't have a removable charger. I did shut it down, tried to run it but didn't have the charger plugged so obviously it didn't turn on. However, now it doesn't say "charging 0%" anymore, skipped to 60% from the library home and not it's at 98% (plugged in, not charging).

I will try uninstalling the ACPI compliant?

Uninstalling the ACPI didn't work! But now it's at a 99/100% ... But cannot get it running without charger plugged

Please check for a battery reset PIN hole at the bottom of the device.
The reset hole would have a battery symbol next to it.
Insert a paperclip into the hole and press for four seconds.
It simulates removing and reinstalling the battery.
