Where is the driver for Windows 10 CB280HK monitor? Why Acer not provide them?

I have recently got two new Windows 10 computers, neither of them works with my CB280HK monitor which we bought in 2014. Windows 10 is supposed to update drivers automatically. For CB280HK  this does not happen. The drivers are provided online up to Windows 8 but this does not work with W10. 3 years for a monitor to become obsolete is unacceptable. Also Acer web support was an external service provider, they did not have the drivers. The web is full of discussions concerning this monitor model flashing etc. and Acer is not doing anything to fix the issues. Totally unacceptable. When we purchased the monitor I also had flashing issues with the Windows 7 lap top.

In the current situation my HP Pavilion thinks this is a generic monitor and everything in my 4k monitor is blurry and pixellated.  This would be easily fixed by providing the driver.

Here in this forum someone asks for it in 2016 . Now 2018 and still not provided!
https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/463417/im-requesting-a-windows-10-cb280hk-inf-monitor-driver

Here the drivers provided, no W10:
https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/support-product/5535?b=1

Google search "CB280hk flashing" provides 1570 hits:
https://www.google.fi/search?q=CB280hk+flashing&oq=CB280hk+flashing&aqs=chrome..69i57.16415j0j4&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

It is insane that even with 1570 pages discussing the problem that can be fixed with a driver that is up to date has not lead Acer to provide the driver. Will never buy another Acer product, but meanwhile this one still "works", I just need the  W10 driver...

Google search "acer cb280hk driver windows 10" provider 24 100 hits... unbelievably bad customer service.

Sorry for the late response. I just saw this post unanswered.

Does the monitor really need a driver? Let me explain it you.

The short answer is NO that is if you are using Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, windows 8 0r 10. I have used monitor of multiple manufacturer, have never installed drivers for monitors. Please don’t confuse the monitor, with the video card.

Most of the functionality of the getting images from the operating system onto your monitor is incorporated into the video card driver. Not only Acer, most monitors from all manufacturers are all plug and play these days.

Usually the operating system includes sufficient default information to make the monitor work fine for most uses, but ideally the specific settings are preferred.

Windows will automatically detect your monitor and use a built in plug and play (PnP) driver to provide the supported resolutions in most cases. Plug and play monitors usually do not need a separate monitor driver.

Please follow the below mentioned steps ans this should resolve the issue

This issue happpens when the windows is switching the computer's video controller output to signal timing that is not supported by your monitor.
Boot into safe mode and set the video resolution to the default settings that the monitor likes: 1440 x 900 @ 60Hz.
When you set the resolution, be sure to check the refresh rate to 60 Hz as that seems to be the stumbling block for the Acer.

For windows 7, Restart the computer and start tapping the F8 function key right away. That should give you a boot choice menu with a stable display. Select "Safe Mode" and Windows should load normally with a rather low but stable resolution.
For windows 10 Safe mode https://uk.answers.acer.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/37081/~/windows-10%3A-boot-to-safe-mode

You can then use the display properties windows control panel to experiment with using higher resolution video formats. The default behavior is to display a settings change confirmation dialog box with the newly chosen settings. If you do not click to accept them, the display will revert to the previous settings after about 20 ~ 30 seconds or so. This should protect you from getting stuck with an unusable resolution.

Well this did not resolve the problem. I am using Windows10. Plug and play clearly does not work, if it worked, why was I posting here? Updating the driver worked with my laptop, so I have a strong reason to believe the driver is the problem. But the new desktop does not let me update it. Nevertheless the safe mode did not help, everything has been updated.  Display settings do not allow to choose 60hz, only 29 or 30 and that does not work.
