Hi guys! I'm fairly new to this forum. Pleasure to be here.

I've just got a Predator Helios 300 (8gb ram, 256 SSD (OS is on SSD), 1tb HDD) . I seem to have a problem with PubG. Before the start of the game (especially true for the Miramar map), I seem to be stuck on the Loading screen with the writing "Player unknown's battlegrounds" for long periods of time. Most of the time, I'm stuck but but i can hear footsteps, and later on hear the airplane. I only get loaded in to the game when I'm at the end of the map and my guy automatically jumps out of the plane.

Anyone else have the similar problem? I've tried doing the below:
- reducing paged, non-paged pool
- using v-sync, triple buffering
- making sure drivers are up-to-date
- using lowest graphic settings
- System restore
But nothing seems to be dealing with the problem.

Note: Windows 10 latest update is stuck and will not install. When I restart my laptop, it gets stuck on the blue screen "Getting Windows Ready Don't turn off your computer".

  • Have you looked at my sticky thread for FPS drops? It can be found in this thread under 4. FPS Drop Solutions: https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/535036/faq-cpu-gpu-temps-fps-settings-other-info/p1

Take a look at the part about Game mode, game DVR, etc. Also, consider uninstalling NVIDIA GeForce.

As for the Windows Update. Do the following:

    1. Navigate to C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution and delete the Download folder. This will delete any Windows update files and require your PC to redownload them.
    2. Restart the PC and retry running Windows Updates.
    3. If the previous steps don't work, try typing 'Troubleshoot' in the Start Menu and running the 'Windows Update Troubleshooter.'

    Hi Skelo.

I've read your post previously and done everything you mentioned (the game mode, dvr, etc), however to no avail. Still getting stuck at the loading screen. I find it very weird as my mates' machines that have way lower specs can all play fine.

As for the windows update, I can't delete the "download" folder as the windows update is stuck at downloading 0%, sometimes 99%, sometimes even 100%.
The one time that it displayed "restart required to install updates", i restarted and got to the blue screen which says "Getting Windows Ready Don't turn off your computer". Now, everytime I restart my computer, it gets to that screen, and the only way to get past is by restoring the C drive.

I would suggest Resetting Windows as it looks like your Windows is corrupted somehow.

BTW, lower/higher spec has nothing to do with this case. If the Reset don't help, then likely you something is wrong with it and it needs sent in for repair.

Remember to install all the default drivers from your device's Acer Support Page after resetting.

    Hi Skelo,

    Really appreciate your reply.

I've reset windows as well, a few times in fact. Again, tho it didn't help.

I'll send it to the Acer centre to get it looked at. However, what do I tell them? I can't play PubG because it gets stuck on the loading screen?

    Regards

Maybe take a look here: https://forums.playbattlegrounds.com/topic/116027-stuck-on-loading-screen/

I don't play PUBG, and this is the first time this issue has been received on Acer's forums. Google may be your best option.
