Need help to identify the Wifi card I need

Hello Acer Community,
I've just joined and this is my first cry for help. I have an Aspire E 15, specifically identified as an Aspire E5-575G. I have the Qualcomm Atheros QCA9377 Wireless Network Adapter in my machine. It has never worked reliably. I have kept up-to-date with the drivers offered on the Acer site. Still, it periodically decides to exit the internet. I've arrived at the position that my only hope is to replace this card. I see that there is an Intel driver on the Acer website, suggesting that there is an alternative to this Atheros card. I've made two attempts with Acer Support to find out the specific model number of the Intel Wifi card that is the alternative to the Atheros card, but they can't tell me. Does anyone out there know? I see some possibilities on eBay, but I would love some confirmation of the exact model designation I am looking for for this machine. Thanks in advance for any help you can give. - MoMack

Hi,
You could replace your WiFi card with a Intel AC3165 or a Intel AC7265.

Thank you for your response Brummyfan2! However, those two choices don't match the form factor of the Atheros card that is in my machine.0

Hi,
Your laptop can take either of these cards as your model came with these cards as well. AC3165 is better than AC7265 IMHO.
Compatible Part number: KI.STN01.101 which is Intel AC3165
All these cards have PCIe interface.

Judging by the photo below, it looks like your Qualcomm/Atherors M.2 1630 form factor card fits in the M.2 2230 slot.....with some room to spare (from a width standpoint). That's what it looks like in the photo. Hope that clears up your confusion. So that should allow you to purchase/install the wider Intel M.2 2230 form factor card that Brummyfan2 was talking about.....since the slot looks like it can take a 2230 card.

This is great. Thanks so much everyone. I think I have to crack open my case and look at what's actually there before I choose my replacement. I've learned so much about all this. Thanks again.0

@MoMack
You should be able to find a guide on YouTube or Google on how to crack open your E5-575G computer and install M.2 WiFI. (You remove/insert the M.2 card at an angle).
Edit: Your Qualcomm/Atheros card should be 16mm wide and 30 mm long. But a 22mm wide card such as the 2230 card should fit.
Good luck!I'm not an Acer employee.0 -

Go to BIOS and check whether your touchpad is in Advanced mode, if it is in Basic mode, switch to Advanced mode.
Press F2 button as soon as you power on the laptop, move to Main tab, click Touchpad and select Advanced, press F10 to save and exit.
