How to fix Acer Liquid Zest bluetooth problem when using bluetooth car speaker phone

When I try to make a phone call from my Jabra Freeway car speaker phone, one of the following happens:

  • The phone call is successfully made (sometimes)
  • My phone shows the status of the Jabra as ‘connected (no phone)’
  • The Bluetooth turns itself off on my phone
  • I get a message saying I have no network, despite the fact that a network isn’t needed to make a call.  When this happens, I try again and get one of the above three responses.
I've factory-reset both the Jabra and the Acer, have installed the latest firmware, have unpaired them and rebooted both before pairing again but, still, I have the above problem.

I've been in touch with Jabra and have exhausted their trouble-shooting suggestions.  They say it's clearly an Acer problem, and I must agree as I have no issues at all when using my Samsung phone with the Jabra.

Please, Acer, I could use some help.

The Bluetooth problem is with ANY Bluetooth device, including earphones. There are only two solutions. First, buy a different phone. Second, buy a Bluetooth transmitter that you can plug into the earphone jack.
