Acer One Z1401 Camera not showing up in Device Manager when we changed hard drive

I have a question about this Acer One 14 Z1401 model that I got from a friend. The built-in camera won't work anymore. We had to change the hard drive because the laptop won't start. Right now, it has Windows 8.1 installed. We took pictures with it before the laptop crashed. It used to have a Windows 10 installed, but it was super slow. Then came the crash, so we had a hard drive change, which is why we have 8.1 OS now with the unit. The tech told us not to upgrade it again. When I open the Camera app, it says "to get started, connect a camera." I can't find any clickable thing I can click to "get started". I tried to find the Imaging Device option in the Device Manager. There's nothing there so I can't find the hardware ID. I tried finding the driver in support.acer.com but there's always an error "There's something went wrong. Please try again later...  (error 100)" or something like that. I can't find it through selecting my device because only Z1402 is NOT showing up. :( I tried looking for downloadable driver for the laptop, cause it could be a compatibility issue, but sadly, nothing worked because I honestly don't know which is compatible with the search results. Any suggestions? I'm desperate.

    solution:
    1. if there's no imaging device in device manager but you have the camera
    2. hold Fn key then press F7 key until the camera lights up.
    3. check the device manager, the imaging device should be there
    4. restart the laptop.
