Hi,
I just bought a brand new Aspire F15 F5 573G and I'm honestly appalled at the graphics and picture quality. Photos look much better on my old Asus which is almost 6 years old! The settings are on 'recommended' and I can't see anything else that needs to be adjusted. Photos look dark and pixelated, lettering of graphics for programs is as well.
This laptop promises better graphics etc, and has i7 core processor, so I thought everything would like better. Even streaming TV shows has poor quality.

Can anyone help? Otherwise I'm going to take back for a refund and buy something else.

In the display adapters, i have two - Intel & NVIDIA, not sure if that makes a difference or not. All updates are up to date.

    Hi,
It's very difficult to suggest the remedy without looking at the screen, it could be manufacturing fault, damaged screen or a poor quality screen, I wouldn't suggest you to change any settings because it may make it worse, could you please go to Device manager, expand Monitors, highlight and right click Generic PnP monitor, click Properties, go to Details tab, select Hardware IDs and post the number as highlighted in my snip.

Sorry I probably went a bit overboard saying 'heavily pixelated''. The photos definitely look worse than my old laptop, which is annoying when editing photos is part of my job! I've only had the laptop 10 days and it's doing my head in.

I disabled the Intel graphics card on advice from someone else.

    Hi,
Yes, It's a Chi Mei screen, they are not very good screens in my opinion, I have replaced mine with a BOE screen in my F5-573, also your screen model comes up as a HD screen( 1366x768), is that correct?  I can offer you two suggestions, return the laptop to the retailer and get a replacement with FHD screen(1920x1080) or if you like this laptop and would like to keep it, buy a FHD screen like BOE, AUO or a LG make and replace it.

Yes that's correct. I asked another tech friend and he talked me through updating drivers and thought it would be possible to increase the screen resolution to 1980 x 1080 but its not so he suggested that I take it back. Don't really want to have to go through replacing the screen. It's a good laptop but just annoying to look at photos when part of my job is editing.
