Hello, I use Ubuntu on my Acer Aspire r3 131t in legacy boot, I decided to install Windows and changed to uefi in BIOS, now I can't change back to legacy or boot from USB. I changed the BIOS settings with the default password but now I do not have supervisor access. I cannot remember what the supervisor password is. I'm not sure why I was allowed to change the BIOS settings in the first place and now i'm locked out. I can't get the laptop to detect a USB either, says no device detected, even with the HDD removed to force usb boot. All BIOS settings are greyed out now.

There are no service manuals available for this laptop online so I'm not sure if theres a bios battery reset jumper, I'm not able to find anything on the board for that. CLRPW etc

I've already tried the following:
  1. Every possible password that I would have used
  2. Removing the CMOS battery (laptop model is too new)
  3. Removing the HDD to force a USB boot (still says no devices detected, I confirmed the USB was bootable on another machine, tried linux and windows versions)
  4. Unable to find bios reset on motherboard

If I can't receive help recovering the password, is there any way to fix the boot menu?

Summary of problem: I used the recovery password on BIOS to switch to UEFI boot but I can't switch back or boot from usb.

Please help! :)
