My E5-575g laptop works fine by itself but when I plug in the charger there is no response and it doesn't charge. I tried twisting the plug around in the laptop socket and sometimes it will hold in there and charge. Is this a problem with my cable or the laptop? And if the laptop, is the female side of the charger something that can be replaced?

    Hi tonythetiger
The best option is to check the charger on  another laptop to isolate the issue. Also, check the laptop by connecting the spare charger to confirm the issue,
If the charger is working fine, you need to replace the whole jack take it to a professional, computer repair shop. or if you really want to do it yourself, order a brand new jack for you model laptop, unsolder the old jack and solder the new on. you will have to take everything apart, you must physically take the motherboard out of the base. some laptops have power-jack boards that just connect to the laptop via pins  and some are connected the motherboard with a wired connection.
