Hey guys i got a predator helios  300 ph317 laptop with 8gb ram 2400mhz , i want to upgrade and i want to put in another 8gb ram (same thing as the other ram)
i took pictures from cpu-z about my ram and my service employer asked me to give him the details about ram ..now i don't know which one is important
The info i gathered is 8gb ram ddr4 2400mhz 1.20V by Kingston now i want to ask you if this is enough information.

(the employer asked me to get the laptop there at the service .. idon't want to do it cause i don't trust giving my laptop to anybody )

In order for 1 ram module to be compatible with another, they should be able to work at same latency. If frequency is different, the ram module with less frequency will be downclocked to match the frequency of the slower ram.

Do you want to run the ram modules in dual channel?

Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:
    -Model number
    -Part number(not required, but helpful)
    -CPU
    -GPU
    -Operating system

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.

    Hi,
You don't need to send it to Service centre for memory upgrade, open the memory service hatch at the back(one screw), lift off the door and insretl the module at an angle and push it down until the retainer clicks.
    DDR4 2400 SODIMM RAM module.

Yes i want them to run in dual channel , i've been to a service they told me i should bring my laptop there to see what ram i need so they can work each other. ( is better to run them in dual channel than not right ?)

    Hi,
You can download and install CPU-z to find out the exact details of the memory module installed, run CPU-z and go to SPD tab, if it's 2400 get a module with 2400MHz speed,  if it's 2133MHz get 2133MHz speed RAM.
