I am trying to update to version 1709 but the update freezes at 82%.  I have to reboot and it kicks me back to version 1703.  Microsoft techs say it is an Acer problem due to no Win10 drivers.  Acer support (Askquestion) says it is Microsoft's problem since that operating system is supposed to install the correct driver and it is already using Win10.  Does anyone know who is right and how I can update to version 1709?                Thanks, Jim

    Hi,

There are a number of factors which can make this work, and number of factors which will make this process problematic. It could an antivirus application or any other applicaton installed on your computer.

Before you apply this update make sure that you have a recovery process in place, this model was shipped with windows 7 and i see that no drivers are not avaliable for windows 8 &10.

You can also run then windows troubleshooter from Microsoft to reset the windows update components.

To temporarily prevent the driver from being reinstalled until a new driver fix is available, a troubleshooter is available that provides a user interface to hide and show Windows updates and drivers for Windows 10. The following troubleshooter is available for download from the Microsoft Download Center:
