This past weekend my old monitor went the way of the dodo, so I bought a new one, which turned out to be the acer 24" LCD GN246HL. I feel the need to say, before going any further, that the monitor works great, really nice picture. That said I open up the box take everything out and find that the stand is in two parts. That's fine, but as with any expensive purchase like this there is usually a "safest" way to mount your monitor either on a wall or on the stand. So I looked to the included Quick Start Guide... Ya, NOPE. Only thing in there is the specifications of the monitor. I just spent hours in the store looking at all the specs of every monitor there before settling on this one, this is information I already have and I DON'T need it to start using the monitor!!!! So I turn to the User Guide only to find out it's on a CD!!!! So as a matter of fact I need a working monitor (which I don't have) to find out how to put my new monitor together!! Well I do have a TV nearby that I can hook an HDMI cable up to and use temporarily as a monitor, I put the CD in and again: NOPE! I have Windows 10 it only works for Windows 8 or older, nice. In the end I have to look up the User Guide on the internet to see how I'm supposed to put this thing together.

I can understand wanting to save paper/money by not printing the User Guide, that makes sense as you really only look at them once and then put them away until or unless something goes wrong. That being the case though at lest make the Quick Start Guide with some useful information for quickly starting up the product that was just purchased. Like how to put the stand on the monitor without damaging it!
