Hello, I purchased a matching MICRON.MTA8ATF1G64AZ-2G3B1.1640.TR.NA 8 GB Ram for the Desktop. there is four slots and the current one from the factory is in slot 4 . Should I put it in the matching Color for the motherboard as I have 2 sticks and they alternate Gray and Black? I was unable to find a recommended slot for 2 out of 4 usage . Does anyone know? It seems obvious that they should be on the matched color but never assume.

The matching colours on the memory slots show which of the slots work in dual-channel. It is preferable to connect the 2 RAM modules to 2 of the slots with the same colour, which will run the RAM modules in dual channel(the new RAM you have purchased should have the exact same specs as the one in your PC in order to work). If the 2 RAM modules don't have the exact same specs, it doesn't matter which slot you connect them to.

Dual-channel doubles the bandwidth from 64bit to 128bit. This usually improves the RAM performance by 5-10%.
Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:
    -Model number
    -Part number(not required, but helpful)
    -CPU
    -GPU
    -Operating system

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.

need to be alternate colors, so if it's in slot 4  (white), the other ram stick must be on the slot 3 (black)
