Just purchased an Acer Iconia B3-A40 with Android 7.0, when setting up L2TP/IPsec VPN it tries to connect but fails. Same VPN with my old 7 inch Acer tablet with Android 5.1.2 no problems connecting with same credentials. Is this an issue with this tablet type, as I tested a second identical unit with same failure or issues this an Android 7.0 bug which is patched in 7.1.2?

i just found this, maybe you already find it:
    https://github.com/StreisandEffect/streisand/issues/439

i would call Acer support service and open a ticket about this issue.
    I'm not an Acer employee.

Yep, likely related to the bug indicated, will see if opening a ticket yields any fruit.

BTW. It's broken in Android 6.x, 7.x and now even in 8.x Oreo. Google has been on this issue for more than two years and have not addressed the basic Linux kernel issue. Not sure if and when. So if you need to use an L2TP/IPsec PSK VPN use the Android 5.1.2 version 😬. Google is leaving it up to platform makers to patch or fix the issue. Acer too has no answer on when or if they they will address.
